Glenn Asano

Glenn is a Partner and Principal Consultant for the strategy and business development practice at Centred Performance. He is also an Instructor at the Ted Rogers School of Management at Ryerson University. He is a proven business leader with extensive international experience and a track record of building and motivating successful teams that are capable of identifying and developing profitable new business opportunities for firms seeking to create customer value. He works together with clients to develop research-based solutions to produce changes in organizational planning, business intelligence, decision making, attitudes, behaviours and skills designed to improve business performance. Glenn loves tackling the “what”, “how” and “why” questions and enjoys collecting and working with data and analyzing processes to identify actionable insights. He holds an MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and completed the Asian International Executive Programme at INSEAD. In 2009, he earned a post graduate diploma in management research, and a PhD in 2014 from the University of South Australia studying the Internet’s influence on customer equity (namely: the drivers of value, relationship and brand trust).

Glenn began his professional career in Toronto working together with Larry Graham as an associate business consultant and has 25 years of business experience in sales, marketing, and business development living and working in North America and across Asia. As Head of the media business division in Asia for Reuters (now Thomson Reuters) he had P&L responsibility for the media business division sales and service operations across Asia. As General Manager for Reuters consumer media business in China, he created and implemented the executable plan to enter the mainland China market with the goal of establishing a platform for growth by building a high net worth individual investor business. As non-executive Director for ANI in New Delhi, he chaired the operations management committee on behalf of the Board to strengthen operating linkages between strategic partners in order to optimize service quality. As the Director of business development with Reuters Canada, he was responsible for capitalizing on the burgeoning Internet and online financial marketplace in addition to targeting corporate treasury users.

In his earlier career, he and a business partner launched the first satellite delivered real time weather and market data pricing service to energy and agricultural commodities traders across Canada under their Starfish Systems business initiative. At Micromedia Limited he served as the Manager of FIND/SVP Canada, an integrated research consulting, management advisory and business intelligence service for executives and decision-making individuals, and as the Manger of business development where he oversaw the launch of the first “off the shelf” Canadian syndicated market research reports that were produced in conjunction with Ryerson University and were distributed through a network of marketing relationships established in both Toronto and New York. Two titles: “Children’s influence on buyer behaviour”, and “Financial institutions in Canada” were widely subscribed.
